1st DAY OF (AFTER) SCHOOL - 21st August 2008

Another photo before leaving Canadian Academy ... after "Rokko Liner" train, we have to transist at Sumiyoshi train station to aboard "JR line" train to Motomachi train station.

Dinner celebration @ KFC ... yummy !!!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL - Canadian Academy on 21st August 2008
As the school is located at Rokko Island, we have to board 2 trains (JR line followed by Rokko liner) to school daily. We are in Rokko liner train (top pictures).
The (below) photos are taken before school starts. You can see multi-national teachers and students in the school.
Our school schedule is from 0830 hours to 1530 hours (except Wednesday to 1430 hours only). Therefore lunch will be taken in school canteen. We have to go to different classes depending on each subject.
Ron is in Grade 9, Jeff Grade 6 & Tim Grade 3 (Tim supposed to be Grade 2 but due to his birthday falls on May, he is transferred to higher grade).
Happy schooling !!!

17th August 2008

Our 1st JAPAN MOBILE PHONES from "SoftBank".

Ron likes black and Jeff prefers white. Guess what's Tim's mobile colour ... green, to match his school bag and wallet!

Also take a clearer look at our new HAIR STYLE - cool !

SUMA BEACH visit on 16th August 2008.
During summer, this is the "hottest" place among the youngters. The Japanese ladies like to be tanned with bikinis and many guys enjoy playing volleyball.
There are many shops selling Japanese snacks & bbq food here.

Visit IKUTA SHRINE on 3rd August 2008.

It is celebrating "Summer Prayer" and selling traditional snacks. The shrine is located at Ikuta Road, next to the famous Tor Road (near Sannomiya shopping areas). Many Japanese ladies wearing "Yakata", the kimono suits during summer period.

3rd August 2008

KOBE CHINATOWN, also known as NANKINMACHI.

It is a rather small Chinatown but offers a nice atmosphere and some good food.

Nankinmachi developed as the residential area of Chinese merchants, who settled in Kobe after the city's port had been opened to foreign trade in 1868.

We are at MOSIAC GARDEN (2nd August), near Kobe's port area (The Red Tower), offering many cafes, restaurants, shopping malls, a ferris wheel and other forms of entertainment. It is a popular dating spot among young couples.

Our 1st food court visit on 2nd August 2008 at KOBE HARBOURLAND. This is a shopping and entertainment district along the waterfront of Kobe's port area.

Besides Japanese & Chinese food, there are also Mc Donalds & KFC. Do not forget to clear your table after meal as this is Japanese practice here!

Visited world's longest hanging bridge at Maiko train station on 12th July 2008. We also dropped by the opposite island, Awajishima, which is as big as Singapore.
